Matt and I woke up Sunday morning ready for a low-key, relaxing day. We had NOTHING planned, our church service was even cancelled because the building didn't have power all week. We were ready to be bums. But then Plan B knocked on the back door (aka our neighbor). He was planning to take his girls fishing and wanted to know if we were interested in going, too. Of course we said yes. We packed up our stuff and were out the door in 30 minutes.
We took them to the little pond in our neighborhood. I had no idea it had any fish but turns out it is fully stocked with catfish and carp!
Jason explaining a few rules to the girls.
Cuddle bugs
Mia caught the first (and largest) fish!
Real life picture :) Avery is cheesing it up while Asher is screaming. He desperately wanted in the water.
The littlest fishers! Both of them caught multiple fish!
Asher managed to get in the pond, which is so disgusting, I can't believe I held him afterwards! Talk about unconditional love!
They ended up catching 32 fish! It was hectic and hot but we had so much fun!
After nap/quiet time we filled up the pool and everyone came over to our side of the fence for swimming and grilling!
Typical scene in our backyard when the Brimberrys are over. Avery and Harper playing, big girls running around playing with the dads and moms relaxing on the patio.
Such a fun day! Everyone was exhausted by the time the left!! I absolutely love days like these!
