15 Months! {Asher James}

Asher Bug!

You are getting so big, little man!!  You love to talk and never sit still.  You are so full of personality and energy! You make me laugh every day and always keep me on my toes.  You are also the sweetest little guy and give the best hugs and cuddles.

You are finally beginning to play independently and still love balls and cars.  You love imitating animal sounds (especially "roar").  You also LOVE babies.  You have your own baby that you carry around and push in the stroller, just like sister :).  You hug it and kiss it and it melts my heart.  I hope you grow up to be a manly man with a big soft side (just like your daddy).

Your favorite thing is the water.  You've had a blast this summer, whether we're playing with the hose in the backyard, running through the sprinklers at the splash park or swimming in the big pool, you can't get enough of the water.

Recently, you've started to enjoy playing with Avery.  You want to wrestle and rough house with her! You've also recently become interested in books.  You love looking at the pictures and having me label everything for you but don't want to be read to.

You say so many words, I'm not sure if I can get them all down...

Dada (favorite right now)
baba (bottle)
Ba! (ball)
tant-tu (thank you)
ga-gon (all gone)
did it!
Cheee!! (cheese
Roar!
Ruff!
Ary (Avery)
Pee-boo (peek-a-boo)

We had your 15 month well check up this morning and you're still growing like a weed and flirting with the nurses :)

You are off the charts for height (34 inches) and weigh 24 lbs (75th%).

You are the biggest ham and love to have you picture taken.  Every time I pull out the camera you make the silliest expressions.  I still can't get over how animated you are!

Summer Fun!

We've had a great summer so far! It's been filled with swimming, splash parks, popsicles, grilling, walks, concerts, and good friends!

This has probably been the best summer I've had since we moved to Texas.  The cool(er) weather combined with being home with the kids has just made for the perfect summer.

Get ready for outdoor picture overload...

Avery has decided she doesn't like walking anymore... she wants to ride her bike.  Which actually works out well because we move faster than the snails now!

These sweet friends are getting so big! We took advantage of a beautiful morning and met up for a park play date!

Took Avery to feed the ducks.  She loved it but also loved the bread.  Let's just say their tummies were all equally full.

My little daredevil.  It's hard being the baby... he wants to do everything Avery does.  Including the big slide and the ladder stairs.

This girl loves helping me water the garden every evening!

Sharing their first sno-cone.  Needless to say, it was a hit!

Living the good life.  Be jealous.  I am!

We're besties.  Seriously, this kid is giving me gray hair but he also makes me smile and laugh like crazy and I love him beyond belief.

Fun little girl's night dinner for Kim's birthday!

Someone was a little excited for the splash park.  She changed into her swimsuit before breakfast!

We're loving our weekly swim dates with the Grimes, Sotos, and Erwins!

This little guys newest obsession? Pushing his baby in the stroller.  Melts my heart every time.

Okay, I think that catches me up for now!!

Sunday Fun Day!

Matt and I woke up Sunday morning ready for a low-key, relaxing day.  We had NOTHING planned, our church service was even cancelled because the building didn't have power all week.  We were ready to be bums.  But then Plan B knocked on the back door (aka our neighbor).  He was planning to take his girls fishing and wanted to know if we were interested in going, too.  Of course we said yes.  We packed up our stuff and were out the door in 30 minutes.

We took them to the little pond in our neighborhood.  I had no idea it had any fish but turns out it is fully stocked with catfish and carp!

Jason explaining a few rules to the girls.

Cuddle bugs

Mia caught the first (and largest) fish!

Real life picture :)  Avery is cheesing it up while Asher is screaming.  He desperately wanted in the water.

The littlest fishers! Both of them caught multiple fish!

Asher managed to get in the pond, which is so disgusting, I can't believe I held him afterwards! Talk about unconditional love!

They ended up catching 32 fish! It was hectic and hot but we had so much fun!

After nap/quiet time we filled up the pool and everyone came over to our side of the fence for swimming and grilling!

Typical scene in our backyard when the Brimberrys are over.  Avery and Harper playing, big girls running around playing with the dads and moms relaxing on the patio.

Such a fun day!  Everyone was exhausted by the time the left!! I absolutely love days like these!
