Asher's First Birthday

Asher's actual birthday was pretty low-key... we made birthday pancakes in the morning (which neither of my kids ate) and played at the house because it was unseasonably cold for April in Texas

 (yes, he is still wearing Christmas PJs in April!)

My family arrived LATE Thursday night so we celebrated Asher's birthday on Friday. 

He wasn't very interested in is presents but thankfully Avery was more than willing to help him open them!

 

We let him have a cupcake and sang happy birthday, I'm pretty sure he thinks we're all crazy :)

He did enjoy his cupcake though!

Asher's party was Saturday morning and we are so thankful for the friends and family that came and celebrated our sweet boy's first birthday. 

We did a carnival theme but kept it very low key :)

One Year

I just put my one-year-old down to bed...

I'm still amazed at how much they change and grow in one short year. 

A year that flies by and leaves you wondering how 365 days have passed so quickly.  A year that leaves you longing for sleep while also wishing the days would slow down, just a bit.

One year.  My baby is almost walking and always getting into mischief. But he is also the best cuddler and is such a momma's boy. 

I look at this picture and it doesn't seem real.  Where have the days gone?  And I know he will be two and talking before I know it. 

I love his blue eyes and his dimples and the crazy animated faces he makes.  I love how he's starting to look more like his daddy but I also see myself in him.  

I'm so thankful that he still lets me rock him to sleep after a long day.  That he cuddles up in my arms and doesn't have a care in the world.  I love listening to his slow, even breathing.  I could sit with him for hours. Watching him sleep never gets old. He barely fits in my lap and I know there are dishes waiting and a party to prepare for but this is a moment I'll always cherish and everything else can wait. 

Happy first birthday, Asher James.  You are the best son I could have ever asked for.

Happy Birthday to the sweetest little one-year-old boy I know! This year has passed in the blink of an eye and I can't believe my little newborn is learning to walk already.  He is so full of personality and is always making us laugh with his silly facial expressions.  I love his slobery kisses and sweet hugs and am so thankful God blessed our family with a baby boy a year ago today.

Easter Weekend

We had a very relaxed, low-key Easter weekend but it was extra special because some of our favorite people came to visit!

Avery and Kai had a BLAST playing together.  They are getting so big and would sit in her castle having their own little conversations, it was just the cutest thing ever.

They both loved dyeing eggs!

Friday was Cash's fourth birthday so we had a little party for him.  He is so loved and so sweet with the kids and their friends.  We love our puppy so much, he is definitely a member of the family.
